La journée d’ouverture

July 21 2008 marked the opening day of Lac du Bois Bemidji. This year, we welcomed villagers from all corners of the U nited States and other countries like England, Canada and Taiwan.

As soon as the vill agers arrived at Lac du Bois, they checked in with their passeports, got their nom français and finish all formalities i ncluding depositing their money à la banque and meeting our nurses at the Club Med (health center). At la douane, counselors checked villager baggage for contraband and the villagers proceeded to their cabins

After dinner, villagers gathered to attend the mini-orientation. A time when villagers got acquitted with different places in the village included les magasins where they learned important phrases of used at Lac du Bois.

They also got a chance to meet with Gilbert Ekoto, our new Dean.

At the end of the first day, villagers gathered around the feu de camp where they learned their first song as a village and it was time to say Bonsoir les Loups and go to bed.
